Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance Announces Partnership with Las Positas College
Trustees sign MOU promoting education and training opportunities for nonprofit professionals
Livermore, CA: August 19, 2020
The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA) announced today that they are partnering with Las Positas College (LPC) to offer education and training opportunities for nonprofit professionals. The partnership, approved by the Chabot-Las Positas Community College Board of Trustees at their August 18, 2020 meeting gives students and professionals access to foundational education through LPC and advanced intensive courses via TVNPA.
“Our passion is bringing nonprofit professionals together in a supportive, educational environment where they can enhance their skills and learn from others,” said Kathy Young, CEO and President of the TVNPA. “We are delighted to partner with LPC. Students will be able to earn a Nonprofit Management certificate through LPC, and CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) credits through TVNPA’s new Philanthropy Institute.”
“We are very excited about this new partnership because of the many new opportunities it offers our students,” adds Vicki Shipman, Career Technical Education Project Manager, LPC. “We believe that the skills and strategies shared during TVNPA’s fall sessions will work in tandem with our new certificate program.”
LPC’s new Nonprofit Management certificate program, tentatively set to begin in 2021, will focus on the fundamentals of managing a nonprofit organization, including finance, legal, operations, marketing, board development and the basics of fundraising. TVNPA will launch a new Philanthropy Institute training series in Fall 2020 designed to complement the LPC certificate. Details will be shared soon.
