Livermore Connects 2024

A Heartfelt Thanks to Our Community Partners
for Making our Second Salud y Sol such a successful event!

Together, we made a tremendous impact, supporting 1,113 community members during our recent event. We couldn’t have done it without the generosity and dedication of our partners:

  • Tri-Valley Haven provided 405 backpacks and 99 gift cards to families in need.
  • Open Heart Kitchen served 300 nutritious meals.
  • Axis distributed 500 dental kits, promoting healthy smiles.
  • City Serve served 220 people including 15 sign-ups for a housing workshop,  20 seniors signed up for a care coordination session and donated 10 backpacks
  • La Familia gave out 500 coloring sets and served 500 refreshing servings of aguas frescas during lunch.
  • WIC shared 40 toddler backpacks to support young families.
  • Kids Bike Lane repaired 24 bikes, gave away 8 bikes, and handed out more than 30 helmets to kids.
  • Outreach Program of America provided cell phones to 17 families, ensuring connectivity.
  • Holy Cross donated 600 books to inspire young readers.
  • Auntie Viv’s Shaved Ice delighted the crowd with 375 servings of shaved ice.
  • Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA) distributed 400 coalition-branded bags.
  • Tri-Valley Air Quality Climate Alliance provided 50 fans to help keep families cool.
  • Quest Science Center brought fun with rockets for the kids to enjoy.

In addition to these incredible contributions, we had lively music and community drumming by Arthur Barinque, face painting, and wonderful photography by Lyle Wright to capture the day.

About Livermore Connects

In the Spring of 2023, Alameda County awarded Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance a grant to lead the Coalition to Expand Community Outreach and Resource Navigation in North Livermore. This two-year project will support TVNPA’s Anti-Poverty Collaborative to address the needs of people living in or near poverty.

Partners in the coalition entitled Livermore Connects, include TVNPA, Axis Community Health, Open Heart Kitchen, Tri-Valley Haven, and City Serve of the Tri-Valley.

Livermore Connects aims to improve health and economic outcomes for vulnerable populations, including Black, African American, Latinx, LGBT+, formerly incarcerated, survivors of trauma and violence, and those experiencing housing insecurity/homelessness. Services will include mental health, healthcare, emergency financial assistance, temporary and permanent housing, food distribution, and domestic violence support.
