The Dangers of Unconscious Demotions

A doctor is mistaken for a nurse. A lawyer is assumed to be a secretary. A venture capitalist is handed a dirty plate. An executive is treated like cleaning staff. State of California Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Program

Attorney Robert Nuddleman is back to help our nonprofit organizations comply with their sexual harassment prevention training requirements. California law requires all employers of 5 or more employees to provide 1 hour of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to non-supervisory employees and 2 hours of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to supervisors and managers once every two years. This law requires the training to include practical examples of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. The training must take place within six months of hire or promotion and every two years thereafter. Seasonal and temporary employees or employees hired to work less than 6 months, must be trained within 30 calendar days after hire or within 100 hours worked, whichever is earlier.
