TVNPA is offering a Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Seminar for employers with 5+ employees. The new CA state law requires training to be completed by 1/1/20. Non-supervisors must attend Session 1 (1 hour) & supervisors must attend Sessions 1 & 2 (2 hours). Not limited to nonprofits; enrollment is capped at 75 people. TVNPA Members receive a discount!

Don’t miss out on fulfilling this personnel training requirement: bring your staff together with other regional organizations to learn collectively about this important topic. Open up opportunities for group discussion with your peers that center on the issues at hand, along with what works — or does not work — at their own organizations and businesses.
California State Law requires:
“By January 1, 2020, an employer having five or more employees shall provide at least two hours of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all supervisory employees and at least one hour of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all nonsupervisory employees in California within six months of their assumption of a position. This training must be provided once every two years.
Employers having five or more employees must train all supervisors in California, as well as non-supervisory employees in California. A supervisor is anyone with authority to hire, fire, assign, transfer, discipline, or reward other employees. A supervisor is also anyone with the authority to effectively recommend (but not necessarily take) these actions if exercising that authority requires the use of independent judgment.”

10:15 am – Session 2 begins (see notes below)
11: 15 am – Program concludes
PLEASE NOTE: Session 1 (for employees) and Session 2 (for supervisors/directors) begin together at 9 am in the Meeting Room at Hively (formerly called Childcare Links. Please note that the address has not changed). There will be a 15 minute break held at 10 am, when Session 1 concludes. The second half of Session 2 reconvenes at 10:15 am for supervisors to complete their required additional training. The program concludes at 11:15 am.
