TVNPA September How To Series: How to Create a Planned Giving Program
September 27 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm
Secure your organization’s future with insights on how to start or re-start your planned giving program. Create a sustainable growth and lasting impact roadmap by overcoming hurdles that often prevent planned giving program launch and long-term success. David Russo offers a wealth of experience in planned giving and corporate relations for both national and local organizations.
David is the Associate Director of Gift Planning for the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health. He is responsible for building and stewarding relationships with donors and estate and financial planning professionals to provide information about Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and its life-saving critical care and research programs for children and families across the Bay area, county, and the globe. He coordinates suggestions for planned giving vehicles and strategic giving to facilitate constituent desires to improve health outcomes for all. His responsibilities also include trust administration, gift agreements, and due diligence.
David brings over sixteen years of charitable gift planning experience. Before the foundation, he was the Planned Giving and Corporate Relations for Santa Clara County Catholic Charities. He was the Director of Estate and Gift Planning for the American Cancer Society, Inc. serving the Silicon Valley and Central Coast regions, and the Planned Giving Associate at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. While there, he established their charitable gift annuity program, facilitated the highly successful real estate gift platform, and administered their $50 million remainder trust portfolio.
David currently serves on the board for Starting Arts, sings tenor for Symphony Silicon Valley, and enjoys Lake Tahoe with his husband of 10 years.
