TVNPA and Las Positas College are pleased to offer the Top Performing Boards Certificate Program designed for seasoned and novice board members, nonprofit professionals, and anyone interested in forming a board of directors or starting a nonprofit. Appropriate for organizations located anywhere in the United States.
This certification course will be held in three sessions. Attendees may register for a single session or enroll in and attend all three sessions to earn a Certificate of Completion.

“All Aboard!” Concepts in Board Design

Before recruiting, it pays to identify the valuable skills, knowledge and experience you want at the table to help your organization succeed. Appropriate for emerging and established nonprofit organizations.
Participants will learn about:

- Board types: working, oversight and advisory Boards
- Board roles, committees, and sub-committees
- How to undertake the “skills, knowledge, and experience” gap analysis
- Strategies for recruiting and retention of new board members
- How to on-board new members, define board norms, and manage expectations
- The value of term limits
- How to navigate the partnership between a board president and executive director partnership
Dr. Lydia is a Certified Business Coach & Certified Employee Performance Coach, with over 15 years of wisdom from walking alongside organizations and individuals on their pathways to success, through her breadth of experience in the education, non-profit, and business sectors. She has served on the Board of Directors for World Hope International (2018- 2020), in addition to holding other administrative and leadership roles in several nonprofit agencies. Along with being a paid speaker and trainer, Dr. Lydia is also the author of the Organizational Poverty Series. In addition to her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership, she holds a BA in English and Psychology and an MA in Education (Instructional Leadership).
